First powered up or has been without both AC and Battery. PowerI the System Clock must be reset. If the time needs to be reset, aTrouble #6 will be Indicated on the Keypad. Hi guys, Is there a sure procedure to reset the installer's code on a DSC PC1550? I called the company that installed the system 15 years ago, and of course they wouldn't give me the code. They want to install a new panel, keypad and 3 fire sensors and all for a very low price (the rep said) of no more than $1k. If I only had a money tree in the backyard.

I started by shorting the eprom then *8 0000, removed the jumper, press 91, press 20, then 1500, then ##, then nothing It doesnt work. I only need the code to disable the motion sensor (not just bypass it) and one of the doors that gives me a trouble code, though the door sensor seems to be in good working condition.

Any idea before I hammer down the panel? Many thanks in advance. To reset the panel's installer code all you should have to do is power down the panel, install a jumper across the eprom reset, power the panel back up, wait at least 10 secs and remove the jumper. The installer code should go back to 1500 or 1550. You can test it by pressing * 8 IC. If the code was good the arm light will come on solid and the trouble, memory, and bypass lights will blink. Press # to exit.

If that doesn't work then the system may have installer lockout. A locked out panel will click the phone relay 10 times quickly upon power up.

If locked out then the panel is useless without the installer's code. Welltech 40085 Htfb85 Manual High School more. Ok guys I received the new system 1832 yesterday and I figured it is not a big deal to swap the panels myself. The keypad too. Everything went smooth until I powered it and everything is fine except zone 6 (the fire zone) which is permanently open.

For the life of me I cannot figure this out. Here is a picture with the fire detector wires. I have three, lower level, mid level (the one in the picture) and upper level. They are still the old one.

I'm about to receive the new ones today. On the new panel, I hooked the RED to AUX+, BLACK to the AUX-, GREEN to COM (in zone 6) and WHITE to Z6.

This seems logic to me, AUX probably acts like a permanent power supply to the fire detectors. Now, on the old panel, 1550 the RED was hooked up to AUX+ and now comes the weird part, BLACK was hooked up to PGM and ever weirder GREEN was on Z6 and WHITE on COM. Nothing wrong with the previous setup.

Of course I tried to hook them up the same way as they were before (one exception, I connected BLACK to PGM1 or PGM2) with no success. The fire system is mostly the reason I have a system.

I could care less about the other features (I actually permanently disabled the PIR). Bushfire Press Advance Australia Fair Download Chrome. Could it be a compatibility issue with the old fire detectors?

And, thank you for your time to read my post. Edit: I just remembered that the previous system went off a couple of times out of the blue. After I unplugged the wall power source and the battery, one of the fire sensors (the one from the mid level) kept beeping for a few minutes and the red light on its case was ON.

If installer lockout is enabled and you dont know the code, your out of luck. Ive had this happen to me with a helper and what i actually did was called into the panel with remote access and reset things that way. Luckely this helper didnt change the default remote access code, but he did enable it. If thats not enabled, not sure there is much you can do except possibly take it back to your distrubtor and say it is damaged when its not (which i dont suggest doing but its an asshole thing to do if you unethical which ive seen happen) Marc 'Malcolm Walls' wrote in message news:25Vgb.5381$M71.168623@ursa-nb00s0.nbnet.nb.ca.

There was also someone in Ca who unlocks panels, I think its either Robert C or Action Jackson.

No, DSC / Tried no longer provide that service Frank. They stopped some time ago. And Paradox never did (if I was the cynical type, I might suggest that is one way to get you to buy additional boards.:))) Advertisement follows.

However, when you have workable but locked boards of older vintage that are no longer in production, it is definately worth the money to have someone unlock them for service spares ie: DSC 1550, 2550, 3000 etc. And if you're located in Canada, it can be expensive to send them crossborder what with exchange and customs (I would imagine).soooo.shop in Canada.:)) (West of Manitoba border) (East of Manitoba border) RHC 'Frank Olson' wrote in message news:jX2hb.50936$6C4.24188@pd7tw1no. Frank Olson 08.10.03 20:03. I am lead to believe that DSC no longer accepts boards back for unlocking.

At least that's the story I get from Tried in the East here. Hmmm.well, they have the price right if that is so.however, next time take 'em to Action Jackson in Vancouver; he'll likely give you a better deal.

This panel can be defaulted on site even if locked out Downpower panel, connect a cable between pgm or zone 1 (can't remember which one) and the reset jumper, (I can't remember which jumper) and power up again. I have donw this twice to the ver 4 panel and it has worked.

It won't work on any other model or ver. -- 'Malcolm Walls' wrote in message news:25Vgb.5381$M71.168623@ursa-nb00s0.nbnet.nb.ca. _______________________________________________________________________________ Posted Via Uncensored-News.Com - Accounts Starting At $6.95 - The Worlds Uncensored News Source Mark Leuck 10.10.03 05:46. This method will work some of the time on the version 4 1550's. Most times it will not work, and other means are called for that require special equipment. Version 3's and lower use another much easier methodology. The process btw, is to power down, run a jumper from pgm 1 to the TOP pin of the reset jumper for 4 seconds, disconnect and power back up.

In a lot of cases this does clear the lockout, but the installer code has not been changed. Then sometimes, it will allow you to default as per factory instructions and proceed from there.

But if you connect pgm 1 to the bottom jumper, you will destroy the board. Ironically, the 1550 is the most difficult of all of the DSC panels to crack into. For those of us that do it, the above way is definately not the best way, and is really not recommended due to the potential risk to the board (which often won't show up until you try to connect to the central station). So if you're going to try this yourself, be prepared to lose a board or two at worst until you get the hang of it. Yes, this will pretty much always work with the early version 1550 panels, and was what I was referring to.

It works intermittently with the version 4's. Worth trying though even with the version 4 panels. I unlock a great many of these panels and I always try that trick first before getting into the more elaborate and time consuming way of doing it with my equipment.

Seems to work with about 20% of the version 4's! However, they seem to have done something during manufacture with all later boards that changed the board design such that that is no longer a reliable way to do it (unfortunately.)
